coming to an end...

Well, our vaycay has come to an end...

We have been in Phoenix since Thursday.
Can you say "H-O-T"?
It has been averaging about 111 degrees everyday.
 It has gotten as hot as 115! It is NOT enjoyable.
What has been enjoyable is visiting with many family members
that I haven't seen in years!
On my mom's side....
Aunt Barbie, my cousin Greg and my Uncle Dan flew/drove down.
On my dad's side....
Aunt Pattie and her daughter Lexsis already live here in the Phoenix area but I haven't seen them in about 4 years!
We have enjoyed visiting...shopping...swimming...
and today we celebrated my mom's birthday AND graduation day!
We spent most of the day over at the Cardinal's new stadium for the ceremony.

Now, we are trying to get everything packed up again...swam a little....
and leaving in the morning to head home. Waaaah!
What makes it all worse?
My twins are staying behind because on Monday they fly up to Boise Idaho to see their dad for 4 weeks!
This is a hard time for us. I do not look forward to it and they don't either.
 The twins have to say goodbye to their little siblings who miss them terribly AND
they already do not want to go to Boise. Its horrible. Having to send them away when they dont wnt to go. It makes it that much worse.
So, memories have been made but going home will not be joyous. Leaving family and familiarity and our favorite things behind....
just to go home to... "BLEH"
is not fun to think about.

I still haven't added photos. We have taken so many but I just haven't had the time. I am letting Lunden take my laptop to Idaho so I won't have a computer until I get home. Either she will add the photos or I will. Or a little of both.

As the song goes.......
"On the road AGAIN!"

taking it all in

This is our second week in Southern California. I am literally just taking it all in.
 Loving every moment.
The weather has been beautiful, I am enjoying my family and watching my children enjoy so many fun things. This is what life is all about. Making memories.
I have to mention the weather again. It has been amazing. Mid to upper 80's during the day and mid 50's at night. It has even been breezy our entire trip.
The evenings actually get chilly! The best part???? NO HUMIDITY!!!!
Disneyland and California Adventure were incredible. We didn't have to wait in lines for more than 15 minutes. Practically unheard of on a Saturday in June!
The kids all had the best time!
Lundens friend Carly has been with us for about a week too. It has been so much fun watching them together and making some fun memories as well. Carly even got Lunden and Brennen to go on Tower of Terror and Lunden got on the Mali-boomer at California Adventure. Brennen had already been on it once with Ben. GOOD TIMES!

We have enjoyed our favorite eating spots too. We have managed to eat at:
Souplantation, Juanita's (hole in the wall mexican..the best!!), In-N-Out and El Torito's.
We have two more days here and then we are off to Phoenix for my Mom's graduation.
Brennen is going to USC tomorrow with Grandpa and the rest of the boys and I am taking the girls to Venice Beach, I think. Lunden wants to hit up some gift shops.
Anyways, we have been busy and not alot of time has been spent online. I will add pictures from our trip soon.
Until next time.........

HERE

This is the first time I have really had an opportunity to be online.
It has been a looong 4 days of travel!
We have safely made it to Southern California.
 It is SO nice to be back "home" again.
The air is dry, the cool breeze today was refreshing.
We are looking forward to some FUN days ahead!!!!!!

More later!

Road trip log

A quick note...
We left South Carolina yesterday and caravaned ( my car and my parents car)
through North Carolina, the Blue Ridge and Smokey mountains
 and stopped in Pigeon Forge Tennesse and visited our favorite spot ...
We love Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg!
We stopped for night somewhere between Nashville and Memphis.
My Dad tried putting us into a "dive" motel last night
My mom and I didn't feel comfortable staying there..
I decided to do a bed check and I noticed....
 bed bugs!!!!!
I am a freak about that and always check where we stay.
Needless to say...WE LEFT!

Anyways...we are having a GREAT time on our road trip and heading through Memphis this morning where I want to take a picture of the kids in front of Graceland.
 You HAVE to do that when you go through Memphis!
We are trying to make it to Oklahoma City tonight but we will see....

More soon with photos!

Pearly shells

We have had a particular Disney sing-along dvd/video in our family library
 since Lunden and Brennen were 2 years old.
It's called:
 Mickeys Beach party
 The kids are hypnotized by it! lol
It's great for long car rides!

This particular song is one of Emersyn's favorite and the reason for my post/pictures today.
Watch it
{You will need to scroll down and stop my music from playing}

Today, when Carsen came home from school ( his last day)
he had a lei and a hula skirt with him. They had an end of school hula party.
Emersyn snatched that lei up as quick as she could and started singing the
"Pearly Shells" song
I snatched a bunch of pictures while she sang......

{Her cute face and she began moving her arms}

{too close to see her arms}

{"shining in the sun".....}

{"For every grain of sand upon the beach..I've got a kiss for you"}

{still singing

{While singing she saw a bug.....lol}

I will try to get a video of her singing this song.....

Happy Summer vacation everyone!
