Christmas time is here

I have been decorating the past few days. I think I am just about done.
(I need some candles flickering in the windows)

I wish Christmas decorations could stay up all the time.
It just makes everything so bright and festive and beautiful.

I finally have my Christmas trees decorated the way that I had imagined.
It took awhile to collect the ornaments I wanted
and the amount of ornaments I would need.

I believe that every room should be festive!
The kids really love to see all the special decorations.
I always go that extra mile for them.
It's once a year...why not?!
That is why I have a (themed) decorated tree in every room.
Yes, even the kids each have one in their rooms!
Why not?!
No, it isn't expensive to do.
None of their trees cost more than $19.99
and they are 6 feet tall!
Lunden has a white tree and the boys, green.
Emmy will have a white one next year.

I thought I would share some pictures of my decorated home......

I decided on red and white lights around my door this year. I usually just do white...
I think it just adds a little something extra with the red!
Looking at my door....I think I need to get a couple of pine topiaries with lights
for either side of my door....hmmmm

This year I have a seperate tree for my White House ornaments.
It is easier to "show off" how beautiful they are.
Each year my mom gives me the newest one.
They get more beautiful every year.
I think I have just about all of them!

All the stockings hung by the chimney with care

My favorite..the crafty/country christmas tree...
This 12 foot tree is the one that Santa delivers presents to.

I just love all the wooden ornaments!
Snowflakes and snowmen are my favorite!

This tree is in our kitchen/eating area.
It has gold, red and green bulbs and butterflies.
This tree could use a little help but...
it can wait until the after Christmas sales!

This tree is in our sunroom. It's the "christmas sweets" tree.
Decorated with cookie and candy ornaments.
( I noticed my jingle bell garland wasn't sitting right in the photo- oops)
The kid's named our elf...... "Buddy".
They love the "Elf" movie!

Today, was the day to hang the wreaths on the windows....
It seems to be a southern thing to have wreaths on the windows
and (fake) candles in the window sills.
So, I am trying it out this year!
I still need to get the candles!

Brennen really wanted to hang my two wreaths on the 2nd floor windows......

I had to make sure the wreaths were placed "just so"
so, we all came outside to watch....

Lunden and Emersyn looking to the sky

Carsen got on the hood of my car so....
the other two wanted to join in.
Silly kids.
I captured Emersyn saying " cheeeeeeeeese". lol

Classic Logan face.
I love my babies!!

I hope everyone had a delightful Thanksgiving!

This morning I am thankful for.........

Emersyn waking me up at 5:45 am.
 Really!
I didn't need my alarm, kids were up earlier and I didn't need to "shush" the boy's to keep quiet so that Emersyn could stay asleep.

Is thankful tonight....

......For boys that sparkle!

I have a crush on Robert Pattinson AKA Edward.
Maybe I am a tad too old to have a crush?
(My daughter just reminded me that I am not too old. Edward is 109!)

 Either way....
he is just so darn cute and fun to look at.
Serious eye candy!
 lol

Lunden and I went to see New Moon. It was wonderful!
Go see it!

P.S. It was a nice break...I was @ urgent care for a few hours ruling out appenicitis and Logan threw up all day. Oh the joy!

Today, I am thankful for being the first ones at the urgent care this morning!

All three little ones have had slight colds...nothing major. This morning, Carsen wakes me up at 5:50 am ASKING me to take him to urgent care because his throat hurt.
Poor thing!
I wasn't sure what time urgent care opened but
I figured it had to be either 7:00 or 8:00 am. It was 8:00 but we were able to walk at 7:50. We were literally the only ones in there. Thank goodness!!!
He has a low grade fever and they checked him for strep.
It was positive. Lovely.
No school tomorrow and antibiotics for 10 days.

On to better, healthier days!

What are you thankful for?

I am a little late at starting this but..
for the entire month of November I am going to post something I am thankful for.
It's my way to give "props" to the blessings and joys in my life.

I am thankful for the gorgeous fall foliage that we get to enjoy here in South Carolina.

{Yes, this is what it really looks like here}

{And yes, we have 2 rivers just like this. Hop on the freeway and you see them}

{The colors here are magical}

random,precious moments...

I just got back from taking 4 out of 5 kids to school...
Today, at the elementary school Logan and Carsen will be getting the H1N1 vaccine. I feel SO bad  that I won't be there to hold them on my lap and comfort them. :(
Good thing is...they will be vaccinated.
Now, I just need to get Emmy in for the vaccine.

I just have to say how blessed I am. I have some pretty terriffic and precious children.
I am greatful for the 5 I have.
I am greatful that they have eachother to play with
and love on and learn how to get along with eachother.

It is so wonderful to have Emersyn all to myself for a few hours in the morning.
Next year, it will be the two of us all day.
It is sad though when Lunden gets out of the car to go to school.
Emersyn will say "Bye Sissy" and wave and sometimes cry.
It made Lunden cry one morning.
She LOVES her sissy so much.
I am greatful for the connections that my 5 children have with one another.
I am greatful that I can be an example to my children
but they don't have to focus on my every move or adult conversations
because they have siblings to help occupy some of their time.

Can you tell I am a proud mama?

I can't believe that Emersyn turns 22 months a week from today!
Oh, how she loves to count! Up to ten.
She is just a little angel.
My friends with children can't believe how sweet she is to other children.
She shares her toys, says "Hi" to them and is oh so sad when her friends have to go home.

Last night, while rocking Emmy in her room, I was singing our nightly songs to her.
She loves "twinkle twinkle little star" and puts her hands up to act like a star in the sky. Hearing little ones sing is heaven to me. Emersyn's soft little voice melts my heart.
I started singing "Im so glad when daddy comes home" to her. I sang it once and when I started singing it again she started crying. It was so sad. She misses her daddy, I think. She is so tender.

And....
last night, the kids ( all 5) and I played "duck, duck goose". Seriously, funny! Instead of running around the circle the boy's were taking off and running around my formal dining room.
It was hilarious.
I just love my kids!

Oh goodness...these are the days!
I could share precious moments like this all day long....

Until next time!

Do you mind?????

So, with the time change my boys have been waking up around 6 am every morning.
I have had to remind them that mommy will come wake them up for school when it is time.
Otherwise, the have every light on in the house and they are being too noisy.
Well, this morning at 5:50 am I was woken up by rumbling trucks and tractors outside.
 Seriously?!??!?!?!?!!
See, we have new construction still going on around our home.
We keep telling ourselves...
Just a few more houses to build. Thank goodness!
Maybe its the lack of sleep I have been getting the past few months?
Or the lack of a husband around week after week because he is on business?
Or the fact that these construction workers have done this a few times,
this early in the morning.
Regardless......
 I am just a little......
Mommy'd out, impatient, tired, need a break, a vacation, support, help, friends, family.
You get the idea....
So,needless to say,the ruckus behind my bedroom wall was more than I could take.
Not to mention that Emersyn's room is on the 2nd floor,
same side, so she has got to hear this noise too.
I get up, get dressed, turn of the house alarm and walk out my front door.
I  walk around the side of the house where this noise has been coming from.
The noise, was a forklift coming off of a bigger truck and the man driving the forklift was  picking up and placing pallettes of sod ( grass) down. When I got out there the guy was up on top of the bigger truck and
I said, " Excuse me....WHY are you doing this so early in the morning?"
He decided to tell me he didn't think there was a problem.
I said, "I understand you are doing your job but can you not hear the noise you are making at 6 in the morning?! This is my house ( pointing to my house) and my baby and I sleep behind right behind those walls, on this side of the street!".
He did apologize and said he was trying to "beat traffic".
Funny...
Traffic is something you do not see on the highways of South Carolina.
Ever.

Wanna see traffic?
I will take you to the 15 freeway from Los Angeles to the base of the Cajon pass on  Friday at 4 pm when people are heading to Vegas for the weekend!

I then asked who it was that wanted him in our neighborhood this early in the morning to deliver sod. He claimed he didn't know. He apologized and I walked back into my house.

Ben is in NY this week so, I called and told him about it this morning.
He knew who to call and needless to say...
construction of anykind isn't supposed to start until 7am (duh).

I think I spoke for quite a few people in our neighborhood this morning.
I'm just stupid...I mean.....tough enough to go out...
in my morning glory to say something!
lol

Part 2
